Eloquii chucks the Deuce

And another one bites the dust…if you like my facebook fan page you already know what I’m referring to when I say that. And if not let me fill you in. So Eloquii (the plus size sister line to the Limited) will be discontinued. Hmmmmm I’m surprised, but not surprised. What I mean by that is, I’m shocked they made the decision to discontinue the line. But I’m not shocked, because is the same issue that happens when straight sized lines, incorporate plus size lines. In my opinion, the kicked their own selves in the butt, because the marketing for the line was not up to par. The line has been out for a little over a year, and to this day I meet women that had NOOOOOOOO idea that Eloquii existed. -_____-

So at the end of the day, yet again it looks like we as plus size women don’t want to spend the money and therefore brands don’t want to incorporate us into their designs. #eyeroll The truth of the matter is, plus size women will spend the money WHEN WE KNOW YOU HAVE CLOTHES THAT FIT US! You want to know why Forever 21 does so well, people know they have plus size. You see it online, you see it in stores, they great options for clothes.

But when you don’t put energy behind your marketing, how do you expect your test market to be interested in what you have to offer. So now Eloquii and The Limited is just another brand that can say “see we tried a plus size line and it didn’t work”

A Special Message to our Fans,
For more than a year, eloquii has served you by delivering quality, must-have fashion in sizes that highlight your confident curves. In return, you have given us great feedback about how we can better serve you.
We look forward to offering you new fashion at www.eloquii.com through the summer. However, after a year’s test at market, we have decided to phase out eloquii and we have begun discussions with others who have expressed an interest in the future of the brand and/or its products.

Thank you so much for your support and for your feedback as we developed and refined eloquii over the last year. We recognize that eloquii plays an important role in our fans’ lives and look forward to better serving our clients in the future.

I really hope that they do make an attempt to come back. Because for the working woman, they did have some great versatile pieces. And it saddens me that this is the direction they chose to go.
What are your thoughts? Sound of in the comments.

  1. My thoughts are the same as yours. And instead for continuing to evolve and try new things to push the line, they chose to dissolve. Just sad that we will be the blame for their lack luster attempt at promoting the line.

  2. Well.. I feel like their options were really old fashion/outdated.. Im tired of brands making $100 trash in a size 22 and calling it plus size fashion.. its just sad. Im not spending a million bucks to look like someone's grandmother. Forever 21+ does so well because its cheap and trendy.. idk I dont feel slighted one way or another. I'm not gunna miss Eloquii.

  6. I was never a fan of Eloquii, anyway. Despite their lack of marketing their plus size brand, the clothing that was being offered never really struck a chord with me. So, I'm with you in the whole "I'm surprised but I'm not surprised" camp.
